The Little Black Dress Manifesto
Upon graduating college, and looking upon the years I wasted trying every major known to man, with no job prospects in my future - I felt perfectly fine. In my delusional state of post-graduaiting bliss, those precious two weeks you take off before looking for a source of income, I waited patiently for a phone call or letter. I felt at any moment my trust fund, (that my parents seemingly hid from me, in our middle class existence, so I wouldn’t be one of those silver spoon duds) would suddenly appear. Well, this didn’t happen. There was no check in the mail. And into the work force I went… with hopes on my 30th birthday such checks may appear. Hey, you never know.
Anyway, my point is, why the hell does everything have to be so incredibly expensive. I believe all gorgeous basics, like ‘the little black dress’ should be given to the general population. There may not be general equality when it comes to handing out trust funds, but at least we will all be well dressed.
Diane von Furstenberg “Bridget” Dress - It’s perfect. Damn you, Diane von Furstenberg, damn you. Sigh.
